Bacon Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 3 – 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup Pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Cook bacon stove top until crisp, SAVE the bacon fat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine puree, eggs, oats and bacon fat. Gradually add flour and keep mixing until fully combined.
  5. On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to the desired cookie thickness.
  6. Using a fun cookie cutter like a dog bone, fire hydrant or festive jingle bells , cut out molds until all dough is used up.
  7. Crumble the cooked bacon slices and press into the cookie shapes.
  8. Place cookies on the tray and bake until golden brown, this should be around 25 minutes.
  9. Make sure to let cool before sharing with your pup.
