Enough of you wrote in asking for a front leash attachment and more structure across the chest that we stopped taking notes and started tooling. This is the Big Ass Tactical Harness — the next step up in big-dog handling, and 2.5 pounds of hardware, webbing and padding that has no business being called a dog harness.

Pick it up and you'll understand. Every latch on it is metal. The webbing is wider than most harnesses are tall. When your 150-pound dog decides the squirrel across the street needs a formal introduction, this is what sits between you and that idea.

Two Points of Control

A metal D-ring up top for everyday walking, and a second metal D-ring on the chest for front-clip handling — the one you've been asking for. Clip to the front and a forward lunge turns your dog back toward you instead of down the sidewalk. Clip to the top for open-trail walking. Use both with a double-ended leash when you want maximum steering.

Between them sits a padded grab handle built for a real hand in a real hurry — helping an older dog into the truck, holding at a vet door, or getting a solid grip when something unexpected walks by.
