We love these for a yummo Fall treat or as a “treat” to give out to any doggos that may come trick or treating to our house on Halloween.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup pumpkin puree (just the good stuff, not pumkin pie mix)
  • ½ Cup natural peanut butter (no xylitol)
  • 2 Cups rolled oats
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tbsp water (as needed)

Directions:

  1. Combine the pumpkin and peanut butter until smooth and well combined.

  2. Add in the oats, chia seeds and cinnamon.

  3. Mix until well combined. Should be the consistency of cookie dough.

Tips: if too sticky, add a little more oats.  If too crumbly, add a Tbsp water.

  1. Roll into balls.  We roll them into about a walnut size but you can go smaller to make more.

  2. Chill in the refrigerator on a parchment lined baking sheet for about 30-45 minutes

Storage:

Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 5-7 days

Place a few into a snack size ziplock and handout as “Trick or Treat” snacks on Halloween

Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.  Thaw at room temp for a few minutes before serving.

Why we love these:

Rocco isn’t a huge fan of crunchy treats so these are soft but packed with nutrition for him to enjoy.

You can also shape these with cookie cutters into dog bone shapes or maybe pumpkins for Halloween.
